Aircraft Parts Consignment & Inventory Management
Consign your surplus with us. We store it, list it and sell it, and you get paid as each part sells.
Overview
How aircraft parts consignment works with Vento Aviation
Some surplus aircraft parts are worth more when sold individually than as one lot. Vento Aviation helps you pursue that value without the time and effort of managing each sale yourself.
With our aircraft parts consignment service, you retain ownership of your inventory while we handle the selling. You receive an advance when the agreement is signed, and your parts are brought to our Brooklyn warehouse for inspection, photography and listing.
We market your parts to buyers who already send us requests for quotes and manage the process from start to finish: enquiries, quotes, negotiation, shipping and paperwork. As each part sells, you receive your share.
Which aircraft parts are worth consigning?
Consignment works best for good spare parts that sell one at a time: rotables, instruments, avionics and other higher-value aviation parts with clean paperwork. These are the lines buyers ask for by part number, and parts fresh from repair and overhaul with new paperwork usually sell fastest.
Slow-moving stock with a low value per part is often better sold outright in one lot, because waiting months for each sale doesn't pay off. Send your list and we split it for you: which lines to consign, which to sell outright, and which we wouldn't take.
What we need to start
- Part numbers and quantities, in a spreadsheet if you have one
- The condition of each line: new surplus, overhauled, serviceable or as-removed
- The paperwork for each line, such as 8130-3 tags, EASA Form 1 or trace documents
- Where the stock is now, so we can plan collection
Who it is for
Helicopter and business jet operators, MROs and aircraft owners holding good stock that is worth more sold piece by piece, who can wait months rather than needing the money this quarter.
What you get
An advance at signing, a higher total return than an outright sale on the same stock, regular reports on what has sold, and no admin on your side.

Two ways to sell
Consignment vs. outright purchase: which pays more?
| Outright purchase | Consignment | |
|---|---|---|
| When you get paid | One payment, on closing | An advance when the agreement is signed, then as each part sells |
| Total return | One offer for the whole package | Higher on the same stock, spread over time |
| Who holds the risk | We do — title transfers to us | You do — you keep title until each part sells |
| Who does the work | We handle packing, freight and export | We check, list, quote, negotiate and ship |
| Typical duration | Valued in 48 hours, then closed | Months, as the stock moves |
| Unsold stock | Ours to resell — not your problem | You can take it back; the terms say when and how |
You can take stock back. The terms say when and how, before you sign anything.
Questions about aircraft parts consignment
You keep ownership of your surplus parts while a distributor stores, markets and sells them for you. You are paid a share of each sale, instead of one lower price for the whole lot.
It depends on what you hold and how soon you need the money. Consignment usually pays more for good, sought-after parts. Selling outright is faster and better for slow-moving stock. Many sellers do both with one list.
It depends on demand for each part number. Some lines sell in weeks; slow-moving stock can take months. We tell you which lines we expect to move before you sign.
